July Favourites

I love reading people's monthly favourites, or watching videos on youtube about it, so I thought I would do one that hopefully you would also enjoy reading!

So, first of all I'm going to talk about my favourite beauty items. I have really been loving my Maybelline instant anti-age eraser eye concealer. I don't need it for the age purposes but my dark circles under my eyes need a lot of covering up and this concealer has been great. The sponge applicator is nice and gentle on your skin too.

I have also been loving my Sleek blusher in "Rose Gold". It is such a lovely colour and perfect for Summer time! It is shimmery and catches the light really nicely.

My NYC liquid eyeliner has also been a favourite of mine this month. It is like a felt tip pen, so it is so much easier to apply than a liquid liner with a wand. The colour is very pigmented and not watery too, so an all round great purchase, especially for the very small price it is.

The Collection eye shadow pencils have been a major discovery and love for me this month. The colours are so vibrant and pigmented, it is so easy to apply and it lasts for AGES! Honestly, if I apply it at 9 in the morning, it is still on my eyes, hardly touched at 9 at night, without an eye primer or base or anything, so perfect if you're going to be out all day. The only thing I would say is that there isn't a massive colour selection. I think they currently have 6 colours, with "Hot Chocolate" being my definite favourite, but hopefully they will bring out more!

The Body Shop's colour adapting BB cream has been great this month. Since I've got a tan, my usual foundation is too light, but this BB cream adapts to your skin tone to give you a match of your own exact colour. It was particulary handy when away on holiday as you didn't have to worry what shade you were or what foundation to use. It gives light coverage which is great for summer time when I try and give my skin a break!

My favourite hair product this month has been argan oil. It has been a lifesaver for the heat-damaged frizzy mess my hair gets into in the Summer. I just apply a tiny amount after washing to the ends of my hair and thats it - so easy!

My favourite skin care item this month has been Palmer's cocoa butter formula concentrated cream. Since I've been away on holiday and got a tan, my skin is slightly peeling and very dry now, and this cream has really been effective on softening and moisturising my skin.

My favourite nail polish this month has been Urban Decay "Shine On". It is a lovely light golden-bronzy colour and looks particulary nice with a tan.

I've been loving many different accessories in July but my favourite was this floral headband from Primark. It is so pretty and summery, and it only cost £2!

Skirts, in particular skater skirts, have been a fashion item I've been loving. Usually doing Summer I live in shorts (or leggings most of the time back in the UK, because let's face it, it's not usually high sunshine here), but this Summer I've made an effort to wear different things and I've been loving wearing skirts more.

I have also been loving tie dye items - I have made a few of my own tops (have a look at my previous post if you want to learn how to too) and bought myself the tie dye Vans which I am loving at the moment.

Review | Collection Work the Colour Eyeshadow Pencils

This is the review I said I would do a few days ago on a previous post. I am completely in love with these new eyeshadow pencils! They are so easy to apply, and it literally takes a couple of seconds. These have become my new favourite thing - why bother why messy, fussy powder eyeshadow when there are these pencils in great, vibrant colours?

Admittedly, there are only 6 shades this pencil is in - that is the only downside I can find for these products! Those 6 colours, though, are all stunning. I have "Hot Chocolate" and "Gunmetal Glitz", and I am planning on going to buy the colours some point soon!

The colours aren't just the one basic block colour - they have shimmers and hints of colours threading through them, making them a really unique eye look that would be very hard to create with usual eyeshadow.

They are also incredibly long lasting! That isn't something that Collection has really advertised or connected to the product, so it was a bonus to find that out! It easily, easily lasts 12 hours without an eye primer or base - I haven't had it on for any longer than that so I'm not sure how long they will last for, but you can be sure that if you're going to be out all day, you won't have to top up your eye shadow if you wear these!

I really can't stress enough how amazing these are, and at such a good price too! I believe they are currently £3.15 in Boots.

I have told all my friends about these and after seeing it on my eyes they have all bought one or two themselves! I really recommend going to have a look at these the next time you're in Boots or Superdrug.

Favourite Summer Fragrances

Hello everyone,

Since it's Summer and I've found a few fragrances that I've really been loving lately, I thought I would share them with you. I am not good at all at describing scents, but I will have a shot!

First of all, my favourite perfume for summer is Calvin Klein's One Shock (for her, of course). It is a lovely summery perfume that isn't too sweet that makes you feel sick of it after a while. It's a good size for carrying around in your bag too - not too big.

I'm also loving Hollister's Solona Beach body spray. It is a sweet scent which admittedly can get a bit sickly if you constantly use it but it is lovely.

Harajuku Lovers Lil' Angel is fruity, however it isn't sweet. The packaging of this is really cute!

Soap and Glory's Mist You Madly spray is another one of my favourites, plus it's so cheap! I believe it is currently £3.50 in Boots, and it is a lovely fruity smell. It also is an okay size for carrying around with you if you're wanting a quick squirt during the day.

The Body Shop's Love etc... perfume is another one of my favourites. It isn't powerful and doesn't have a strong scent, but it is a lovely smell that is summery and isn't too sweet.

Tutorial | Easy Tie Dye T-shirts, Without Dye!

Hello everyone,

I've always fancied making a tie dye t-shirt, and I recently discovered that you can do it without any dye. Instead you do it with bleach, called 'reverse tie dying'. All you need for this is a plain coloured t-shirt, normal household bleach, a bucket, water, gloves and some hair bobbles or elastic bands to secure the top.

The first thing you do, is lie the t-shirt out on a flat surface, pinch it the middle with two fingers, and twist it round in a circular motion. You keep on doing that until your top is in a ball shape.

Using your elastic bands or hair bobbles, or whatever you can get your hands on, wrap them over and around the top to secure it in the shape. I used 8, but you can use as little or as many as you wish, just as long as it is tightly secured.

In the bucket, you then pour in the bleach and warm water, with 3 parts water to 1 part bleach. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GLOVES TO PROTECT YOUR SKIN WHEN DOING THIS. It is really important that the bleach doesn't touch you. I did this part outside because I am quite clumsy and I know my mum would be very annoyed if I spilt the beach anywhere in the house - understandably of course, because it takes the colour out of everything (which is why it's great for reverse tie-dying!)

If the t-shirt floats to the surface like mine does up here ^, just put something heavy on top of it to weigh it down. I used the jug I used to measure the bleach and water, and the bleach bottle in it, but you can just use a rock, flower pot, whatever (as long as you don't mind it touching bleach!)

I left my top in there for 25 minutes, although how long you leave yours in is up to and how tie dye-ish (is that a word?!) you want it to be. When you lift it out, if you pull back one elastic band the top there should be a different colour to what it is on the outside - that's when you know it's done.

Once you've taken it out of the bucket (of course wearing your gloves!) remove the elastic bands and put in the washing machine on a rinse wash to remove the bleach from the top and make it comfortable to wear. From then on, all you do is treat it like a normal t-shirt and hang it up to dry. Once dry, hey presto! you can wear your beautiful new top.

As you can see, it works on both sides of the top equally well. The colours it turns out to be depends on what colour the top was before you tie dyed it.

Highstreet Makeup and Beauty Haul

Over the last week, I have popped into Boots and Superdrug multiple times (I just can't resist the temptation!) and collected quite a few items that I thought I would share. If you want me to do an indepth review on any product on it's own then please let me know in the comments and i will be happy to do so.
The products I bought (from left to right) are:

 The reason i bought these is simply because another favourite youtuber of mine, misshari1000 (go and have a look at her youtube videos, they are really good!) recommended them and said that she thought they were better than Mac lipsticks. Considering they are £1.99 each, and  in Boots there is a deal on through the whole of Natural Collection where you can get any 3 things for £5, I thought i would give them a shot. I like these lipsticks, though I personally wouldn't say they were quite as good as Mac, but for their price they really are excellent. They are moisturising and the colour choice is reasonable - so i do recommend giving them a shot.

I have already done a review on this product, so if you want to find out about it have a look at my previous post. It cost £8 and i am really loving it so far.

Accessorize large bronzer

The gold butterfly on this product was originally all there, however the layer of gold is incredibly thin, which wasn't what i expected. That much came off after 2 uses. Since it's summer I've been wanting to bronze myself up and create a natural looking bronzed effect on my face, and this bronzer is massive, so I thought that one would be ideal. Currently, it is reduced from £4.95 to £3.95 in Superdrug.

Make Up Academy eye palette in "Undress Me Too"

This palette was £4 from Superdrug, and the colours look incredible. I like to do brown smoky eyes in Summer time and this palette looks very pretty, with a selection of matte's and shimmer's. I was watching Lauren Curtis's videos on Youtube (I seem to be constantly saying this but check her out too!) and noticed how many MUA products she had. It wasn't a brand that I'd ever tried before, but I thought I would give it a shot. My first impression is quite good - particularly for the price.

Vaseline lip therapy and Palmer's cocoa butter formula concentrated cream

The vaseline I bought because I'm always needing a new one of those. I apply it a lot to try and get my lips hydrated and not chapped. The standard price for it in Boots is £1.99, and a tin does last quite a long time. To be totally honest, the Palmer's cream i bought based completely on the smell. I currently have 4 hand creams on the go, so certainly didn't need another, but the cocoa smell of this stuff is AMAZING. Honestly, I could smell it all day every day for ever and ever! Also Boots are having a reduction on all of the Palmer's range currently, so it only cost £1.06 (the usual price is £2.13).

The Rimmel London eyebrow pencil I bought because I use eye shadow for filling in my eyebrows just now, and wanted to try something different. However, being in a rush and being very silly (tut tut), I didn't check the colour was what I wanted, and it is too dark for me, which is a shame because it seems like a nice product. Having a brush on the end is a really clever idea - perfect for on the go and it only costs £2.99.

The final product, the Collection work the colour eyeshadow pencil, i am absolutely in love with. It is so much quicker and easier than usual powder eyeshadows, and the "Hot Chocolate" colour is stunning. I am going back to Superdrug to buy a few more tomorrow, and I'm planning on doing a review on them separately, so expect more to come! The usual price is £2.99 which is really reasonable, and to top it off in Superdrug just now some Collection products have been reduced to £2.50, including the eyeshadow pencils.
